Well, you may not believe it, but I try to always thank anyone who is kind enough to do something for me.
Last evening, when my Grandson returned home from work at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic, he remembered to pick up seventeen mice for my two California Banded King Snakes.
I made sure to thank him, for his trouble and for my snakes dinners for the next two weeks.
Never just say thank you without meaning it, and sounding like you mean it. Don't just let it pop out automatically, be sure that whoever you are thanking knows you really are thankful for thinking enough of you to do something for you, even if it's just pouring you a cup of coffee, or getting you a glass of water.
If they are your family, such as your spouse or your child, they still deserve to be thanked.
Don't you appreciate it when someone says thank you when you do something for them?
Remembering to say thank you will also serve to teach others that they too should thank others for things done for them.
Even if it is someone you are paying for services, either a waitress, or an employee, saying thank you is common courtesy, and just plain good manners. Even if it is a paid doorman, who you tip, take the time to let them know that you realize they are people, too.
You will never regret saying thank you so someone.
