What a Wonderful Weekend

Happy People at Lunch Break

I was at a two day assembly of about 2,300 happy true Christian worshippers of Jehovah God, and followers of his Only Begotten Son, and the now reigning King, Christ Jesus.  We had two days of uplifting, upbuilding spiritual education and fellowshipping with Christian followers of Christ Jesus and a wonderful time seeing old friends we may not get to see as often as we might like, as well.

We had great weather, and no one froze or roasted in any excessive heat, either.  Here, you see a few of the more than three thousand who attended the assembly of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses who are from southern California.

We sang some happy songs to and about Christ and his Heavenly Father, Jehovah, looked up many scriptures and took copious notes to share and to research so expand our spiritual mental storehouse of scriptural knowledge, as well.

These opportunities are always a refreshing time, and while taking in more spiritual food, we also love fellowshipping with our spiritual brothers and sisters.  We learned today that there were more than 300,000 new people who were baptized world wide during 2009, and there were also 42 persons baptized at this assembly, as well.

Becoming one of  Jehovah's Witness involves more than just saying, "I want to join."  To be accepted for baptism, one needs to have studied and really understand the Bible's teachings about God's will, and his plans for the earth as well as the people who live on the earth.  They also must understand that God actually has a real government that is based in heaven, but that soon, it will also be completely ruling earth's inhabitants, as well, with Christ Jesus as "Earth's New King."

When Jehovah's Witnesses have meetings to learn about God, the audience includes all ages of people, from parents with children of all ages, as well as older persons, such as myself, and others much older in age.  There are people who may be even in wheel chairs, and some who are physically unable to attend in person due to health issues that may prevent them from physically being present, but who are able to listen in by a special telephone hookup.

I have a cousin who is severely paralyzed who is seldom able to personally attend meetings, as she is not only paralyzed, but is also in her late seventies, and her husband has sever arthritis.  Yet, they have many spiritual brothers and sisters who many time record the sessions from the assemblies that they are unable to personally attend, and they thereby get the information by listening to the recordings.

There are now approximately seven and a half million Jehovah's Witnesses worldwide, in more than 236 nations and islands of the world, and they take Bible truths to people in more than four hundred languages, door to door, just as did Jesus while he was on earth as a human.

If you are truly searching for God and have questions about how we fit into the stream of time and prophecies in Bible, just ask one of Jehovah's Witnesses.  They will be happy to show you the answers from your own Bible, free of charge.

If you are tired of worrying about what this worlds governments are doing to make things better because they seem to get worse with every passing year, why not see what God has to say about world conditions, and learn that he has not forgotten about mankind, as many persons think. There are clear answers in the Bible, and God has promised relief very soon for those who exercise faith in the only True and Living God of the Bible.

After all Jesus died to redeem mankind from the sin and death we inherited from Adam's sin, and from the lies Satan the Devil told to Eve, who was deceived.  Jesus was the perfect human that was needed to pay the ransom to buy back humans from that inherited sin and death.
